How to Resize a Photo to 20–50 KB for Exams

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Online forms for SSC, bank exams, NEET and UPSC reject photos that are too big, too small or the wrong shape. A phone photo is usually 2 to 5 MB, far above the 20–50 KB most forms allow.

Resize a photo to 20–50 KB, step by step

  1. Open the Exam Photo & Signature Resizer and choose your photo (JPG, PNG, WEBP or HEIC).
  2. Pick a preset such as Photo 200 × 230 px, 20–50 KB, or type the pixels and KB range from your notification.
  3. Download the JPG. It has exactly that size and a file size inside the range.

Signature at 10–20 KB

Sign in black ink on white paper, take a photo, then choose a signature preset such as 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB. "Fit with white border" keeps the whole signature without cutting it.

Check your notification

Common sizes: bank exams such as IBPS and SBI ask for a 200 × 230 px photo of 20–50 KB and a 140 × 60 px signature of 10–20 KB. Rules change every year, so always use the size your exam notification gives.

Need a PDF instead?

Some forms want documents such as certificates as a PDF under 100 or 200 KB. Make the PDF from photos, then compress it.
