Remove the Password From a Bank Statement PDF

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Banks email account and credit card statements as locked PDFs, and the e-Aadhaar download is locked too. That is good for safety, but typing the password every time is slow, and many upload forms, loan apps and print shops cannot open a locked file.

You can make an unlocked copy in your browser. You need to know the password: this does not guess or break passwords.

Remove the password, step by step

  1. Open Unlock PDF and choose the statement PDF from your phone or computer.
  2. Type the password you use to open it.
  3. Click Unlock PDF and download the copy. It opens without a password.

Where do I find the password?

Each bank sets its own pattern, often a mix of letters from your name, your date of birth or your customer ID. The email that came with the statement says which one, so read it first. For e-Aadhaar the password is the first four letters of your name in capitals followed by your year of birth, for example RAHU1990.

Is it safe?

The file and the password stay on your device; nothing is uploaded. Keep the unlocked copy somewhere private, because anyone who gets it can open it. If you need to send it, you can add a new password of your own.

File too big for the form?

Loan and visa forms often have a size limit. After unlocking, compress the statement or keep only the pages they ask for.
